ICHTHUS
___ICHTHUS est une commande de peinture murale pour le restaurant, bristro et lieu culturel “Le Koï au couvent”.
Il se situe dans un ancien couvent de capucins Place Vatel dans le centre ville historique de Toulon.
“Ichthus, du grec ancien, ikhthús « poisson » est l’un des symboles majeurs qu’utilisaient les premiers chrétiens en signe de reconnaissance. Il représente le Sauveur durant les débuts de l’église primitive. En grec, c’est un acronyme pour Jésus-Christ, le Fils de Dieu, notre Sauveur.”
Le lettrage et le visage de la femme voilée font donc écho à l’histoire religieuse du lieu.
Les carpes quant à elles font référence au logo et à l’identité du restaurant.
ICHTHUS is a wall painting order for the restaurant, the bistro and the cultural venue “Le Koï au couvent”.
It is located in a former convent of Capucins Place Vatel in the historic city center of Toulon.
“Ichthus, from ancient Greek, ikhthús “fish” is one of the major symbols used by early Christians in recognition. He represents the Savior during the early days of the early church. In Greek, it is an acronym for Jesus Christ, the Son of God, our Savior.”
The lettering and the face of the veiled woman thus echo the religious history of the place.
