GIESSHÜSGASS
___GIESSHÜSGASS est un projet qui s’inscrit dans le cadre de la saison Happy20 du Musée d’Art Moderne et Contemporain de Strasbourg (MAMCS), en partenariat avec la Direction de la culture de la Ville de Strasbourg et le Centre socio-culturel du Fossé des Treize.
L’oeuvre murale est située au niveau du terrain de basket ouvert sur la rue de la Fonderie à Strasbourg en Alsace.
Cette peinture fait référence au nom de la rue et à l’histoire du quartier. Elle renvoie à la présence d’une célèbre fonderie de canons qui a fait la fortune de la ville de Strasbourg durant la Ville libre royale puis révolutionnaire (1680-1800).
Elle figure une scène de fonderie contemporaine qui rend hommage aux ouvriers fondeurs.
Elle apporte un contraste entre deux temps, deux atmosphères, deux communautés : celle des basketteurs qui occupent le terrain actuellement et celle des travailleurs qui incarnent un temps révolu.
GIESSHÜSGASS is a mural project realized within the framework of the 20 years of the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Strasbourg (MAMCS) in partnership with the Socio-Cultural Center of the Ditch of Thirteen and the city of Strasbourg.
The mural is located at the basketball court open on the street of the foundry in Strasbourg in Alsace.
It refers to the name of the street and the history of the neighborhood. It refers to the presence of a famous foundry of guns that made the fortunes of the city of Strasbourg during the Royal and Revolutionary Free City (1680-1800).
It features a contemporary foundry scene that pays tribute to the foundry workers.
It brings a contrast between two times, two atmospheres, two communities: that of the basketball players who occupy the field at the moment and that of the workers who embody a bygone time.
