« AGUANTE » / TENEZ BON
Cette peinture fait référence aux incendies qui ont ravagés la région de Valparaiso il y a quelques semaines et qui ont provoqué un sentiment de deuil mais aussi un mouvement de solidarité national. Avec Hélène, nous avons traversé les premières fumées entre Santiago et Valparaiso. Nous nous sommes retrouvés coincé entre les flammes qui dévoraient toute la région autour de nous. Regardant les informations, je me suis senti comme impuissant et spectateur de cette tragédie. Cette auto portrait symbolise ce ressentiment. Cette peinture offerte à la communauté du quartier à été une façon de contribuer à cet élan de solidarité. La phrase « AGUANTE » sur la casquette signifie courage, tenez bon !
« FELIZ QUIEN, COMO ULISES » / HEUREUX QUI COMME ULYSSE
Cette peinture s’inspire de la maison du poète Chilien Pablo Neruda. Il collectionnait beaucoup d’objets comme des figures de proue et des coquillages. Pour ma part, je me suis inspirée de ce que j’ai trouvé sur les plages chilienne. La phrase renvoie au voyage d’Ulysse et à son odyssée.

“AGUANTE” / HOLD ON
This painting refers to the fires which ravaged the Valparaiso region a few weeks ago and which provoked a feeling of mourning but also a movement of national solidarity. With Hélène, we crossed the first smoke between Santiago and Valparaiso. We found ourselves trapped between the flames which devoured the entire region around us. Watching the news, I felt helpless and a spectator of this tragedy. This self-portrait symbolizes this resentment. This painting offered to the neighborhood community was a way of contributing to this surge of solidarity. The phrase “AGUANTE” on the cap means courage, hold on!
“FELIZ QUIEN, COMO ULISES” / HAPPY WHO LIKE ULYSSE
This painting is inspired by the house of the Chilean poet Pablo Neruda. He collected a lot of objects like figureheads and shells. For my part, I was inspired by what I found on the Chilean beaches. The phrase refers to the journey of Ulysses and his odyssey.
